Barnies founder Terasa Hill started making Barnies to befriend an injured horse that she purchased at an auction when she outbid the manager of an abattoir. In an impulsive bid she became mom to the Thoroughbred who had fractured her knee in a race the day before. Terasa nursed her back to health but soon found her own health in jeopardy. Diagnosed with breast cancer, she leaned on the bay mare for comfort and understanding companionship through her own test of fate. Their story is one of compasion, strength and faith....
She named her Sierra. The two of them live happily with appreciation for the gift of a second chance.
